Welcome to ISKCON Saket Dham

Situated in the serene surroundings of Sainik Farm, New Delhi, ISKCON Saket Dham is a spiritual oasis dedicated to spreading the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupāda.

Inspired by the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, the temple serves as a center for Kṛṣṇa consciousness—where devotion, knowledge, and compassion come together. Our mission is to cultivate a spiritually vibrant community based on chanting the holy names, selfless service, and pure devotional principles.

  • Sunday Love Feast: A weekly spiritual gathering featuring melodious kīrtans, enlightening discourses on Kṛṣṇa consciousness, and lovingly prepared sanctified prasādam, open to all.
  • Food for Life: In the spirit of compassion taught by Srila Prabhupāda, ISKCON Saket actively serves society by distributing Kṛṣṇa-prasādam to the underprivileged, recognizing food distribution as a sacred act of mercy.

Through temple programs, festivals, education, and outreach, ISKCON Saket Dham strives to help individuals reconnect with their eternal relationship with Śrī Kṛṣṇa and lead a life of peace, purpose, and devotion.

Founder-Acharya

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada

"Human life is meant for inquiry into the Absolute Truth. We are trying to give human society an opportunity for a life of happiness, good health, peace of mind, and all good qualities through God consciousness."

In 1966, at the age of 69, Srila Prabhupada traveled from India to New York to share the wisdom of Krishna. He established ISKCON with 7 core purposes, including:

  • To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society.
  • To propagate a consciousness of Krishna (God).
  • To bring the members of the society together to each other and to Krishna.
  • To teach and encourage the sankirtana movement (congregational chanting).

Dīkṣā Guidance

According to the teachings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupāda, Dīkṣā is the authorized beginning of one’s life in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, received through the disciplic succession (guru–paramparā) descending from Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself.

What is Dīkṣā?
Dīkṣā is the solemn vow by which a sincere soul accepts a bona fide spiritual master and promises to follow his instructions with faith and determination.

Srila Prabhupāda explains that at the time of initiation, the spiritual master plants the seed of bhakti (devotional service) within the heart of the disciple. By hearing, chanting, and serving under proper guidance, this seed gradually grows into pure love of Godhead (prema).

Dīkṣā is not a formality—it is a lifelong commitment to surrender, discipline, and loving service to Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
Required Standards for Initiation
In accordance with ISKCON principles established by Srila Prabhupāda, a candidate for Dīkṣā must strictly and joyfully follow these foundational standards:

1. Chanting Sixteen Rounds Daily
The initiated disciple vows to chant a minimum of sixteen rounds of the Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra every day:
Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa Hare Hare Hare Rāma Hare Rāma Rāma Rāma Hare Hare
This chanting is the yuga-dharma and the primary means of purification in this age of Kali.

2. Strictly Following the Four Regulative Principles
To live a life of purity and spiritual strength, the disciple must avoid:
  • Meat-eating (including fish and eggs)
  • Intoxication (including alcohol, drugs, tea, coffee, and cigarettes)
  • Illicit sexual activity
  • Gambling and speculative habits
3. Regular Participation in the Morning Program
Attendance at the morning program—including Maṅgala-ārati, japa meditation, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam class, and devotional service—is strongly emphasized by Srila Prabhupāda as essential for maintaining spiritual discipline and enthusiasm.

By sincerely following these standards, the disciple becomes firmly situated in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and eligible to receive the full mercy of the spiritual master.
